Shambala Home
The home was built using a remarkably consistent philosophy: the designer's tender care, present at every step. The massive wooden arches serve as both a formal and structural element as well as a spatial element, which are used to create the dramatic, expressionistic spatiality of the German stage sets and films of the early 1930s. They appear to be residing in a historically significant area, beneath arches, with the exception that the tall walls have been replaced by glass, offering a distant view of the pulsing city.
